Choline Bitartrate

Choline bitartrate is a small molecular weight quaternary amine salt, which readily dissociates in water. The benefit of choline salts is the rapid dissolution and availability in the body as free choline as opposed to bound forms which need to go through a number of enzymatic steps before availability of free choline. We produce our choline bitartrate using tartaric acid sourced from wine production, to ensure isomeric purity. Choline bitartrate is used in a wide range of products, from infant formula to dietary supplements and fortified foods. It dissolves rapidly in the digestive system, providing the free choline that the body needs to meet choline demands.

Benefits

Although choline in any form is beneficial to health, each choline salt offers slightly different advantages based on product application. Choline bitartrate, with a choline cation content of around 40% is a free-flowing powder that can be easily added to dry mixes and blends and is often used in tableting and other single dose applications. Our choline bitartrate is also available in a lipid encapsulated form to aid in formulation and processing in multi-ingredient applications.
