July 11th is National Blueberry Muffin Day! This fruity baked good is always a crowd favorite.

Muffins were first introduced in the 18th century in England, as a bread. The popular muffin today in America was adapted to be a quick bread, like a miniature cake. As the recipe continued to adapt, flavors like blueberry became extremely popular. In fact, in 1988 the blueberry muffin became the official muffin of Minnesota.

Are you looking for ways to improve your blueberry muffin? Balchem’s Glimmer inclusions can help Spring Some Whimsy into your baking. Our Glimmer inclusions add a shimmery swirl of purple, blue, or pink for a sparkling burst of fun in your muffins, cakes and other baked treats.
